Elias: *Born 6-11-44 *Studied Latin and Humanities at St.Pius College, Goregaon,Mumbai *Licentiates in both Philosophy and Theology *Obtained Highest Marathi language degree- Sahitya Acharya. *Ordained a priest 6-11-71. *Doctorate from the University of Pune *Author of many books *Studied journalism at the Catholic University of America *Secured an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Bombay*Working knowledge of Hebrew and Greek *Edited the Diocesan Monthly- Suvarta, for many years. *Started a new bi-lingual Quarterly dedicated to Catholic Charismatic Renewal,known as Abhishikt(=The Anointed) *Directed Charismatic Renewal in the diocese of Vasai for many years. *One year of Pastoral ministry in Los Angeles, U.S.A. *Two years of Missionary Ministry in the diocese of Jammu-Srinagar. *Elected as President of Christian Marathi Literature Conference of Maharashtra. *Officially edited a Marathi book on Eucharist. *Currently engaged in pastoral ministry in the diocese of Vasai and working on the Ecumenical Marathi Bible Revision Committee ■
