A loving gaze through the eyes of faith at the mystery of God revealed in Christ Jesus.Captivated by the loving gaze of God who is delighted by humanity. It’s like looking through a dark glass or catching a reflection in a mirror.Providing a foretaste of the wisdom God yearns to share with us in heaven.
This holy exchange of glances - between the eyes of the heart and the eyes of God - is at once the most human, tender, intimate, reciprocal, vulnerable and divine of self-disclosures, marveling at how much more immense the mystery one beholds actually is than what one first imagined.
Yielding a kind of knowing which corrects the courseof one's life, igniting the heart with love stronger than death and illuminating the mind with the very splendours of God.
The Incarnation, the Crucifixion. and the Resurrection converge to transform the inner man because this overview and depth insight open up the deepest recesses of the heart, the suffering abyss of human misery, to the loving goodness of God. allowing God to continually question everything about one's manner of life.It is an unfolding dialogue with the Risen Lord which constantly enhances one’s real confidence to persevere in faithfulness to Him and to more firmly cling to Him in one's own weakness.
This gazing seeks the loving eyes of God reflected in the entire gamut of propositions of our faith. For those who patiently seek it, this divine glimpse is marvelously revealed in the inspired knowledge of God Himself.
In the most subtle of moments, like lighting, eternal Truth flashes through all levels of consciousness and into depths of which one is not conscious, illuminating everything from within with such blinding brilliance that little but the most overwhelming love is remembered and what is born in mind cannot be articulated.
Essentially a pure and simple grace, it is far above every other kind of knowledge
This knowing puts on the mind of Christ which knows nothing but the loving goodness of the Father. It is a renewal of the mind to such heavenly glory that it thinks thoughts no longer subject to sin or death. This supernatural knowing is so profoundly humanizing of all the kinds of knowledge there is that indeed, one has not begun to live if he is ignorant of the divine-human knowledge discovered in the loving swap called contemplation.
For man fully alive is the genuine glory of God- and the vision of God.is truly the eternal life of man.
